Nearly all blue topaz is created through irradiating white or colorless topaz to make various styles of permanently blue stones. Electric blue (aka Swiss blue) is a rich and bright hue that isn't as ethereal and pale as Sky blue topaz, nor as deep and darkly moody as a London blue topaz. Instead, it's brilliant and powerfully saturated, and this stone, cut in a modified Standard Round Brilliant called “Low Boy,” lives up to that standard. The cut combined with the rich color makes a stone that is constantly shimmering like sunlight off water.
